Autodesk Inventor
Digital Prototyping and 3D modeling

Industry experts are championing Digital Prototyping as a way to cost-effectively validate design ideas and accelerate the development of competitive products. Autodesk® Inventor® software provides a comprehensive and flexible set of software for 3D mechanical design, simulation, tooling creation, and design communication that helps designers experience their design before it’s built.

Autodesk Inventor software is the foundation of the Autodesk solution for Digital Prototyping. The Inventor model is an accurate 3D digital prototype that enables designers to validate the form, fit, and function of a design as they work, minimizing the need to test the design with physical prototypes. By enabling designers to use a digital prototype to design, visualize, and simulate their products digitally, Inventor software helps designer communicate more effectively, reduce errors, and deliver more innovative product designs faster.

Design and Validate Your Products Digitally

Autodesk Inventor software products include an intuitive parametric design environment for developing initial concept sketches and kinematic models of parts and assemblies. Inventor software automates the advanced geometry creation of intelligent components, such as plastic parts, steel frames, rotating machinery, tube and pipe runs, and electrical cable, and wire harnesses, helping users minimize manufacturing costs.

Improve Design Communication and Collaboration

Autodesk Inventor is tightly integrated with Autodesk data management applications, enabling the efficient and secure exchange of design data and promoting earlier collaboration between design and manufacturing workgroups. Different workgroups can manage and track all components of a digital prototype, allowing for better reuse of crucial design data, management of bills of materials (BOMs), and collaboration with other teams and partners. With the new Autodesk Inventor Fusion Technology Preview, users have the ability to accept and reject changes made to the design as well as review and revert back to previous versions of a design.

Simulate For Real-World Conditions

Easy-to-use and tightly integrated motion simulation and stress analysis in Autodesk Inventor help users predict how the design will work under real-world conditions before building it. The comprehensive simulation environment provides support for static and modal finite element analysis (FEA) at both the part and assembly level. Results from dynamic simulation allow engineers to use FEA more effectively by leveraging the reaction forces to set up the conditions for finite element stress analysis

Utilize Existing DWG Design Data

With Autodesk Inventor software, users can easily integrate AutoCAD® and 3D data into a single digital model to create a virtual representation of the final product. Inventor software helps users realize the benefits of Digital Prototyping by providing direct read and write of native DWG™ files, so there is no risk of inaccurate translations. Open any DWG files directly inside the software, copy and paste profile geometry into a 2D sketch to quickly create new 3D geometry, and quickly open a DWG file to copy geometry into a sketch in order to build a 3D part

AutoCAD Inventor Suites

Autodesk Inventor technology is available in five different AutoCAD Inventor suites. These suites are scalable to meet the individual needs of each user. They are also cost-effective, allowing a broad group of manufacturers to realize the benefits of Digital Prototyping with minimal disruption to existing workflows.
